Occasional 5: Off the wall - back to the floor ;-))

Occasional 5 spent some time at my design wall - but whatever I tried ... it just did not look right. After fighting with it for a while, I took it down and put it down on the floor again ... It is so much easier to twist and turn the two pieces on the floor !

I came up with three different variations I like. I think I'll put them all up to the design wall again and look at them for a while. As I have already sewn some more blocks, I will play with those, too. Right now I'm not really sure which variation I like best - I would say I like No 1 the least, but that might change as soon as its up at the design wall again.
What do you think? I would love to know that - and if you would tell me why, I would really appreciate it ;-))

Was denkst du?

No 1 - love the two red-and-blue checkerboard pieces in the center. Is that enough?

No 2 - like how the piece in the bottom left corner grounds the piece.

No 3 - adds some more balance to the top part // Nr. 3 - hier kommt im oberen Teil noch etwas mehr Balance dazu.

I'm linking back to Nina-Marie's "Off the Wall Fridays" - jump over and enjoy a visual feast !
Ich verlinke diesen Post mit Nina-Maries "Off the Wall Fridays" - dort gibt's einiges zu entdecken !

Here's my 2Cents worth! I've looked at all three on full screen, and have to say I like all three. My eyes really travel around, without resting anywhere, really. Very interesting to look at. I think I like #3 best though, and I'm wondering how it would look if you turned the top one one turn clockwise, and the bottom one counterclockwise. I agree that those checkerboard ones are a feature, and might be better placed in the whole. Worth a try. I'm sure you will find the right arrangement. I love all you piecing, very attractive.

I don't have much of a reason why, but I found No. 2 to be more pleasing to look at. Maybe the corner pieces? The arrangement just seems right.

I like #2 the best. I think the lines created the most flow through out the piece in number 2. I really LOVE these blocks!

I liked number 2 as well. I think it is because the large light blue box in the top half wants you attention more than the ones around it. When it moved the piece flowed more.

I actually like them all, you really can't go wrong with this wonderful piece!

Hallo Frauke,

I am thinking that I like aspects of all three, but I really like the way in number three the transition between the top and the bottom is so strong.
